Why use a pool in labour?
The relaxation and pain relief properties of water in pregnancy and labour are undeniable, but what else can water do for you in labour?
Simply by submerging yourself in a birth pool you allow for around 75% of your pregnant body to be supported by water. This means you feel lighter, more comfortable and able to move with ease.
You literally produce more of your pain relief for pregnancy and labour hormones whilst you are relaxing in water! This can help reduce the need for for pharmacological pain relief when you are giving birth.
The use of a birth pool can encourage your baby into a more optimal birthing position.
The warm water from a birth pool provides your baby with a calm, warm and gentle transition from womb to world.
What does the pool hire include?
We want to make hiring our pools for your pregnancy and birth as straightforward as possible. All of our packages include the following:
Birth Pool in a Box (1 x Mini and 2 x Regular Sizes available) or La Bassine hire from 37 weeks gestation until 43 weeks (6 weeks hire)
Birth Pool in a Box or La Bassine pool liner
Essentials Pool Birth Kit, including:
- 10 meter hose
- tap connectors
- water safe thermometer
- strainer
- non slip mat
- anti slip floor cover
- submersible water pump
- air pump
Delivery and collection within a 15miles radius of BS3 and BS26
Cost: £180 for Birth Pool in a Box or La Bassine Pool
